ELABORATOR Lighthouse city Trikala launches survey on women's mobility patterns

ELABORATOR partners e-Trikala and urbana are examining women’s mobility patterns within the city of Trikala and its surrounding villages.

Through this initiative, the Lighthouse Living Lab of Trikala seeks to identify the specific mobility challenges faced by women. These include the caregiving roles many perform, such as shopping or caring for family members, and addressing safety concerns like harassment in public spaces.

Aligned with the EU Cities Mission, the Trikala Living Lab will use these insights to develop sustainable mobility solutions, such as improved public transport and unified bike paths, enhancing safety and accessibility for women and other vulnerable groups. These initiatives are part of Trikala’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), which focuses on improving life quality through ICT infrastructure, public space redevelopment, and encouraging eco-friendly transportation.

Women living in Trikala or nearby are encouraged to share their insights by completing the questionnaire here.

The results will guide the design of on-site workshops and targeted actions set to take place in Trikala in the coming months.
