As the summer progresses, we want to take some time to recall the main events ELABORATOR has participated in during the last few months.
Showcasing Trikala in the CIVITAS webinar
On 3 July 2025, ELABORATOR joined the CIVITAS webinar on best practices from cities, where our Lighthouse city of Trikala was recognised as a champion in designing safe and inclusive streets.
The webinar offered a platform to demonstrate how local actions can inspire systemic change, reinforcing ELABORATOR’s commitment to creating public spaces that are safer, more accessible, and welcoming for all.
Urban Transitions Mission Centre (UTMC)
On 17 June 2025, I-SENSE Group/ICCS proudly represented ELABORATOR at the Annual Conference of the Urban Transitions Mission Centre (UTMC) in Bonn, Germany.
During the session “Trends for Cities in 2025”, the ELABORATOR approach was presented alongside discussions on energy transition, digitalisation, urban innovation, and financing mechanisms for urban transformation.
The UTMC continues to serve as a global knowledge hub, connecting policymakers, city representatives, academics, and funding bodies in a joint mission to accelerate cities’ journeys toward net-zero futures.
Championing inclusive mobility at ITS Seville 2025
ELABORATOR was also in the spotlight at ITS Seville 2025, where SIS 11 asked a compelling question: “Who cares about inclusive, sustainable, and citizen-centred mobility?”
Moderated by Evangelia (Geli) Latsa of I-SENSE/ICCS, the session brought together leading voices to explore co-created, citizen-driven approaches to urban mobility.
Anna Antonakopoulou presented “The ELABORATOR approach to ensure inclusiveness for the identification of real mobility and public space re-design needs towards sustainability”, showcasing the project’s experience in running community workshops and engaging local stakeholders.
The discussion, enriched by contributions from our sisters projects AMIGOS EU, REALLOCATE, and Just Streets, highlighted the crucial role of citizen engagement, inclusive policy design, and intersectional approaches in delivering fair and effective mobility transitions.
A time of engagement and knowledge-sharing
From Bonn to Seville and across the CIVITAS network, ELABORATOR continues to showcase how inclusive, citizen-centred strategies can guide the urban mobility transition. These events reaffirm our belief that sustainable cities are built not only through technological innovation but also through the voices and experiences of the people who live in them.
