
Overview
Deliverable D1.5 develops a reusable data management protocol for transport research and supports the evolution of the ELABORATOR Data Management Plan. It provides a model template for describing how mobility data will be collected, documented, protected, stored, shared and preserved. It also introduces a domain model that connects interventions, stakeholders, co-creation, evaluation, devices, datasets and publications. For readers, it offers a practical starting point for structuring data management in multi-city or multi-stakeholder mobility projects.
Highlights
• Reusable DMP template: The proposed template covers data types and purposes, formats, ownership, collection methods, metadata, responsibilities, ethics, legal compliance, storage, backup, long-term preservation, security, repositories and licensing.
• Documentation for reuse: It recommends recognised metadata standards, codebooks, data dictionaries and README files so that datasets can be understood and reused by others.
• Intervention-centred domain model: The model is centred on an Intervention and connects its location, Intervention Plan, Tasks, Co-Design and Co-Evaluation methods, KPIs and associated datasets.
• From devices to FAIR datasets: Devices can include sensors, questionnaires, workshop materials or external data sources. Data Processors transform their outputs through activities such as fusion, redaction, pseudonymisation or anonymisation before storage and reuse.
• Stakeholders and Living Labs: Project partners and external stakeholders can participate in co-creative processes, own devices or datasets, and produce publications based on project data.
• Open Access and licensing: The report explains Horizon Europe requirements, trusted repositories and Creative Commons licences, including the use of CC BY to encourage broad reuse with attribution.
Conclusion
The DMP template and domain model are designed to be adapted beyond ELABORATOR for similar transport research projects. They help partners agree on a common language and document the full path from data collection to evaluation, publication and reuse. The domain model also provides the conceptual basis for the more technical data model developed in Deliverable D4.1.
